This was the first of our tours „One Week in …“, which is aimed at covering white patches of your travelling book. We have chosen the Kaliningrad area, the northern part of East Prussia.

Once it was Prussia’s granary and treasure chamber and an important political and cultural centre. After the war, the Russian occupying forces destroyed the German remains and administrated the Russian exclave inconspicuously for strategically reasons. With the opening 1992 and the following nostalgia tourism, business development, the discovery of tourism and the search after remains of the pre-war period emerged.

After meeting in Malbork, the East Prussian Marienburg, the group enters the northern East Prussia. The base for the next days will be the former seaside and health resort “Rauschen”, now Svetlogorsk. Three days of sightseeing programme leave culturally and scenically wonderful impressions. Two days are at free disposal for searching in the past, other discoveries or simply for relaxing.

Departing via the Curonian Spit, the unique beauty of this wonderful headland can be admired. The farewell evening will be in Nida, the artist town on the Lithuanian side. From here everybody can discover the Baltic States according to own interests.
