Excited? It’s nearly 2012

Dear Perestroika Friends,

we wish you an peaceful and nice advent season.

November was not so eventful this year, considering that this time last year we were already snowed in.

Presently we are preparing the get-together taking place between Christmas and New Year at our campsite Schinderhannes. Bookings are still accepted at short notice.

For your information: the first Perestroika tours for 2012 are already booked out.

On Saturday, January 7th Eberhard Utz the tour leader of the 2010  Singapore-South-East Asia Tour and the Sichuan-Chinese Silk Road-Tour will present a photo show in our restaurant. Start is at 16:00, a reservation is not necessary.

If you don’t come to Hausbay you may meet the Perestroika team at the CMT in Stuttgart or in February at the Camping Show in Essen.

Whilst you may always check on the tour list athttp://www.mir-tours.de/englisch/sites/reiseziele.htm we would like to offer some additional information:

Despite the booking having closed already we are still accepting bookings for the „Middle Kingdom“ tour to China.

Unfortunately we were unable to get sufficient bookings to run the „Lake Baikal – Mongolia“ tour. This is quite lucky under the circumstances as Walerij Kassjanik can now be the tour leader for „Ukraine-Eastern Europe“, as well as „In the Shine of the Midnight Sun“ and the „Carpathians - the historical centre of Europe“.

The Russian destinations are popular as always, there is hardly any space on the „Moscow -St. Petersburg“ tour and the „White Nights“ is also asked for. Both trips will have Dana Lemeziene in charge.

For those of you wanting to go somewhere more warm and exotic:. How about going to Morocco in spring?

Eberhard und Lyssi Utz will be taking care of the „Southern Scandinavia“ tour which is offered as a HymerCard-Tour, but is open to other brands as well.

The all-round trip to the Balkan, former Yugoslavia with Bulgaria and Albania will be in the capable hands of the Wallas couple.

If you have questions to your favourite trip, we can always recommend coming to the Info-Days from April 13th – 15th 2012, which is still some time away.

Are you coming along?

Our 2012 season offers are only out a few weeks and you should have received your copy of the catalogue already. The first exhibition, the Caravan Salon at Düsseldorf has passed, but you may see us from 09th to 13th November at the ExpoCamp Show in Wertheim. Also in Stuttgart at the CMT you will find us in our usual spot. Careful, this might be too late to secure a place in your dream tour. Don't hesitate to contact us if we can give you some more information so you can decide on your trip.

Highlights 2012 are: the Nadaam Festival in Mongolia, the Diamond Jubilee in Great Britain, the Rose Festival in Kazanlak. Various countries are preparing for big events, like the Ukraine and Poland with the football championchip and England with the Olympic Games. We have deliberately avoided travelling to these regions during those events. Still there will be enough to see and experience.

As all tour leaders have returned home now, we are able to assign the first tours for the coming season:

The Tour to Siberia, to Lake Baikal and Mongolia will be taken care of again by Walerij Kasjanik. To China "The Middle Kingdom" we will put the participants into the hands of the Krajacic couple who have previously done other long distance tours. Booking closes for both tours in mid-November.

Several short and standard tours have had a good response in bookings or options have been placed.

Popular tours as always are "Morocco", which will be under the wings of the Schneider couple once more. Heinrich and Marlis Orfgen, whom you might know from the Düsseldorf show will be travelling with the group to "England and the Scottish Highlands" The "Moscow- St. Petersburg" as well as "White Nights in St. Petersburg" will be taken care of by one of the most experienced people on this route. Dana Lemeziene and her husband Vitautas look forward to introducing you to the Western Russia and the Baltic States.

After five years on other routes Birgit and Dieter Schmieder long to to to "Turkey - Greece" once more.

Always popular are the tours of Peter Rettau, who will go already in mid-April "St. James' Way", a very different kind of pilgrimage.

Eberhard Utz is currently working on his foto-show "South-East-Asia" and "Sichuan-Chinese Silk Road". After this mega tour the Utz couple are taking a break from long trips and will look after the HymerCard-Trip "Southern Scandinavia" which is available not only to Hymer clients.

Dear Perestroika-Friends,

Having just returned from the CMT exhibition in Stuttgart, we thank all visitors who stopped by our stand.

With more than 220.000 visitors the show is the biggest of its kind in Europe and we were surprised that the interest was kept up throughout all exhibition days.

The Crimean peninsular was often quoted as a destination. We recommend going this year, since the Football Championship next year will also influence the tourism.

Of the three Ukraine tours in our touring programme, the first is already sold out. But the tour „Red Wine and Black Sea” offered in cooperation with HymerCard (led by Walerij Kassjanik) http://www.hymer.com/medien/HymerCard-Reisen_2011/Roter_Wein_und_Schwarzes_Meer.pdf and the “Moskau-Crimea-Odessa“ (led by Dana Lemeziene)
http://www.mir-tours.de/sites/reisen/mo_kri_od.htm have still places available.

Due to the current political situation in Tunisia the countries of the Maghreb and the Near East are not as popular. Much better is the interest in Russia, especially St. Petersburg as well as the states of the former Yugoslavia.

And for sure we talked about the big tours. Eberhard and Lyssi Utz reported from the tour „Singapore-South East Asia“, which only ended a few weeks ago.

We would also like to announce the status of some of our tours...

Greetings from the stormy Hunsrück heights,

Was it really only three weeks ago that we celebrated the Long Week in the most wonderful indian summer? We would like to thank all participants of the Info Days, the Workshop Weeks, the North Africa Reunion and the Mir Club Meeting. Without your interest, enthusiasm and the good spirit it would not have been such a wonderful event.

So now we are back at work, business as usual. The first pre-tour meetings have taken place. If you feel the need to escape the coming winter, you may still register for the “Christmas in Tunisia”-Tour.

The traditional booking season has really started with a bang. The tour „Easter in the Ukraine – Springtime on Crimea“ led by Walerij Kassjanik and the „Morocco – towards the Springtime Sun“ under the guidance of Wolfram and Gerburg Schneider are both fully booked.

Anyone wanting to join the Orfgen couple on the tour „England and Scottish Highlands“ should not wait too long. There are really only a few places available.

If you want to know what tours are ready to roll simply check out the relevant page on our website:  http://www.mir-tours.de/englisch/sites/reiseziele.htm

Any more questions?  Simply contact us and we shall be happy to give you further details.

Best Wishes

Summer At Last

Dear Perestroika Friends,
Summer at last! We can hardly believe it ourselves, but this weekend the thermometer touched the 30°C for the first time this year. This is the ideal time to come for a short stay to our campsite in the Hunsrück and to enjoy some holidays at the lakeside.

What’s New?
We are still fine-tuning our catalogue which is due in your post box in the first half of August. As soon as all tour dates are fixed you will find them on our website.

„South-East Asia – Singapore“ had our full attention this week, as a small caravan led by Eberhard and Lyssi Utz headed off east. We wish them a good and interesting journey on this trip of a lifetime. There are still places available on the return trip „Sichuan-Chinese Silk Road“.

As the Jubilee Tour was such a success there will be a short trip to Belarus in late August, led by Peter and Lutzi. “To the Beginnings of Perestroika Tours” We head of to Brest, Minsk and Vilnius and meet our host from various tours.

That was something for the spontaneous ones. If you like to plan well ahead we can recommend now the tour to the Persian Gulf. Tour start is November 24th; destinations are Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and more. The tour is now led by our most capable Helmut and Maria Purner.

Well prepared will be those going with Birgit und Dieter Schmieder. They will not head so far but at least it will be warmer than home and a touch of Orient is also included: Christmas and the New Year in Tunisia.

Contact us if you have questions, info requests and comments, or simply check out our website www.mir-tours.de

See you soon.

Your Perestroika-Team

Dear Clients and Friends,

spring is nearing at last  and its time to satisfy that urge to travel. Therefore we send you a quick update about our upcoming trips.

Of the tours taking place in June we would like to recommend the “One Week in St. Petersburg“. This tour offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the city of the tsars inside out with some unique programmes.

More rural are these trips: Peter Wallas is taking on the new route through „Russian Karelia“ and Birgit and Dieter Schmieder will lead the way to the “Midnight Sun” once again. Anyone interested should hurry up as there are already a fair number of bookings.

For all those who have little time there are still place in our shorter trips „One Week“ in Belarus or the Kaliningrad Region. These trips are the ideal opportunity to get to know the people and the pasture.

You still have questions? Want to know more? Stopp at Camping Schinderhannes for the next information day on April 10th.

Our campsite has quite something to offer this spring. Come down Easter Sunday for Brunch in the Restaurant or stop by Whitsunday when our chef Henry treats us to foods from his native India.

A Happy Easter from all of us here at Hausbay

Dear Perestroika Friends,

In China they say „Drill you well before you’re thirsty“.

In the next days the CMT in Stuttgart starts, so from January 16th to 24th there is plenty opportunity to hear about old and new destinations.

At stand A14 in hall 7 there will be the tour guide Eberhard Utz at your disposal to talk about the „Sichuan–Silk Road“ trip which is intended as a return tour for those travelling on “South East Asia-Singapore”.

Whether you come to the exhibition, wait for the next info days in April or not: Book one of the last places on the top-tours: Morocco, To the Country of the Skipetars, or In the Shine of the Midnight Sun.

Travel to our classic destinations, Moscow, St. Petersburg or the Ukraine. Nature combined with interesting programmes can be found on the 3-week trip to Karelia or on the 3-month tour to Lake Baikal and Mongolia.

For late summer there is Caucasus-Anatolia or can we take you name down for the winter. Available will be the Arabian Peninsula and North Africa.

Ihr Perestroika Team

Are you coming along? 28.11.2009

Take part in the following: Fishing on the Peninsular, Rafting in Karelia, Midnight Stroll through St. Petersburg, Eat in a Monastery on the Golden Ring,   Amber Searching in Samland, Wine tasting on Crimea, Rose Festival in Bulgaria, Picnic in the Nemrut Volcano Crater, Nazaam Festival in Mongolia, Sunday Market in Kashgar, Jeeptour in the  White Desert

There are still places available on most of our tours.

We have just given the thumbs up on the North Africa Tour. Anyone still interested should make their mind up soon since the pre-tour briefing is in early January.

For travellers to China there is good news. Thanks to the good contacts of our local touring partner participants older than 70 may get a driving license again. This does not only apply to the Marco Polo but also the Singapore Tour.

More tours have been allocated:
The Schmieder couple will be taking care of the „Durch das Land der Skipetaren“.

Both trips „Moskau-St. Petersburg“ as well as „Weiße Nächte in St. Petersburg“ will be taken care of by one of the most experienced people on this route. Dana Lemeziene and her husband Vitautas look forward to introducing you to the Western Russia and the Baltic States.
